Byron Bay and Wollongbar-Alstonville Pioneers – two CS91-sponsored clubs – recently went head-to-head in the Far North Coast Rugby first grade grand final.

After a hard-fought contest, it was Wollongbar who came out on top, winning 14-8, to secure what was their third straight FNC Premiership title.

It was the Bay, who had only lost once all season, that started the brighter with centre Sean Nicholl scoring a try, before a penalty goal gave them an 8-0 lead.

But the Pioneers battled back in the second half with Sam Kerry notching two tries in what was a determined team performance, which sparked jubilant scenes at the full-time whistle.

Congratulations Wollongbar-Alstonville; commiserations Byron Bay.
